On 14–15 March 2026, the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), in collaboration with the Creative Innovation Foundation, organized a skill development camp under the project Creative and Talented Youth Leading Science & Technology 2026 (CATALYST 2026). The event was held at the Department of Chemical Engineering Building, KMUTT.
The camp brought together 20 finalist teams of high school and vocational students, along with their advisors, who had been selected to further develop their innovation project ideas aimed at addressing and responding to natural disasters.
Throughout the camp, participants engaged in a variety of activities designed to inspire and enhance their skills, including ice-breaking sessions, a workshop on “Climate & Disaster Innovation”, project mentoring by faculty members, and team-building activities to strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants.
In addition, participants visited the National Geological Museum (in honor of His Majesty the King), where they learned about geology, natural resources, and natural disasters. This experience helped broaden their perspectives in developing innovative solutions and approaches to future societal challenges.
The CATALYST 2026 project aims to enhance youth potential in science, technology, and innovation, while inspiring them to become key contributors to the country’s future development.
