📢 On 25 January 2026, the Department of Chemical Engineering organized a hands-on workshop titled “Crafting Esters & IR Functional Group Detection” under the CHEX Hands(on) Workshop program, aiming to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in organic chemistry and chemical analysis.
During the activity, participants actively synthesized fragrant ester compounds through chemical reactions and learned how to identify functional groups using infrared (IR) spectroscopy to confirm the structure of the synthesized products. This approach helped bridge theoretical concepts with practical applications in chemical engineering.
The workshop was closely supervised by faculty members and senior students from the Department of Chemical Engineering, who provided step-by-step guidance, fostered a friendly learning environment, and encouraged participants to ask questions throughout the session.
The Department of Chemical Engineering, KMUTT, sincerely thanks all participants for their interest and looks forward to welcoming everyone again at future academic activities. 🔬✨
Schools interested in organizing similar workshops are welcome to contact the department directly to discuss activity formats, content suitability, and collaboration opportunities.
