Workshop “Caffeine Extraction & IR Spectral Analysis”

📢 KMUTT Chemical Engineering Department Organizes “Caffeine Extraction & IR Spectral Analysis” Workshop to Enhance Practical Skills for Students

On 24 January 2026, the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) organized a hands-on workshop titled “Caffeine Extraction & IR Spectral Analysis.” The activity aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and practical experience in chemical engineering experiments through caffeine extraction from tea leaves and compound analysis using infrared (IR) spectroscopy.

During the workshop, participants actively conducted laboratory experiments and learned systematic procedures—from sample preparation, extraction, and separation to the interpretation of IR spectra—helping them gain a deeper understanding of fundamental chemical principles.

The activity was closely supervised by faculty members and senior students from the Department of Chemical Engineering, who provided guidance and fostered a friendly and engaging learning environment. As a result, participants gained not only knowledge and hands-on skills but also enjoyment and inspiration to pursue further studies in chemical engineering.

The Department of Chemical Engineering, KMUTT, would like to thank all participants for their interest and looks forward to welcoming everyone again at future academic activities. ✨🔬
